About Us

Serving the Brooks-Newell Region

Grasslands Regional Family & Community Support Services Society

Grasslands Regional FCSS is an inter-municipal program with four partners (September, 2013):

  • City of Brooks
  • Village of Duchess
  • Village of Rosemary
  • County of Newell

Grasslands Regioanl FCSS began operation in September 2004. Funding for FCSS is cost-shared where 80% of funds are allocated from the Provincial Government and 20% from the Municipal Government. 99% of people living in Alberta live in an area served by a local FCSS office.

Grasslands Regional FCSS has eight board members, two from each municipality we represent. One member is a Councilor and one is a  Community Member.

Grasslands Regional FCSS strives to build healthy, safe, inclusive and engaged communities where people in our Region believe they matter. We know that through these prevention-based initiatives stronger people, families and communities are built.

Through innovative programs and targeted funding opportunities tailored to address the distinct needs of each community, Grasslands Regional FCSS aims to catalyze positive change across the Region. We work to empower individuals and communities to collaboratively identify and address their specific needs, fostering a sense of ownership and unity in community development efforts.

When FCSS programming helps one person feel safe and healthy, they contribute to a stronger family. When families are strong, they’re a bigger part of their community. And when communities are healthy, we’ve built a stronger Alberta. That’s the value of FCSS.

Our Vision

Grasslands Regional FCSS plays a key role in building safe, inclusive communities where all residents thrive; fostering pride, belonging and respect for diversity in all forms across the Region.
